Our staff welcomes you to our wonderful website! Hialeah Elementary School has a myriad of innovative programs for teachers, students and parents to enrich their lives. Being the Principal has afforded me the opportunity to search and seek for programs that are custom tailored to meet the needs of all individuals who are part of this family. Each person’s role is valuable for the success of the entire school operation. We have the “Literacy Diet” program conducted by Dr. Willows and sponsored through the Melissa Institute. The second program which has brought a total transformation to our school is the PASS model - Partnership to Achieve Student Success. Mr. Jeffrey Miller, noted Miami-Dade community and educational activist is sponsoring the PASS model for our school. PASS teams a leading CEO and a motivated Principal working to infuse business strategies into school improvement. This model is supported by the FLDOE - Florida Department of Education and the Miami-Dade school district. The PASS program is sponsored through the Council for Educational Change. Other programs available to our students are listed below: · Metro-Dade Refugee Program · Y.M.C.A. Program · After School Tutoring Gr. 3-5 · P-Sell – Science Literacy Skills · Math Parent Information Nights · Title I Parent Workshops · Job Awareness Fair for Parents · Dade Partners School Volunteer Program · Report Card Day Distribution · Parent Academy and Literacy Classes (sponsored by the PASS model) · “Reading Under the Stars” · Career Day and Truck Day · Field Experience / Interns from private and state universities · Harvest Festival / Staff, Parents, and Students The united “hands on” efforts from Mr. Miller, CEO, Weeks Gas Company and his staff with the Principal have brought to our students, staff and community, the guiding light towards success. A Message From Miriam C. Arthur, Assistant Principal My greatest joy, as Assistant Principal is to share the love of learning with everyone I come in contact with, especially the students of Hialeah Elementary. I want to inspire, and motivate them to become good students today, and even better citizens of the world tomorrow. I'm hoping to see many of them gainfully employed, socially well adjusted, physically fit, and having pride in whatever they do.
